"Yoga is the Journey of the Self through the Self to the Self." The Bhagavad Gita
Current Zoom Classes
(Note: this is not an exhaustive list of styles I offer simply what you can register for Online at this time )
Mindful Movement Yin
This class will focus on slow mindful gentle movements and long yin holds. We will stay low and most poses will be seated, prone or reclined.
Breathing practices and meditation techniques will be introduced to enhance your ability to retain the benefits which include a tension free body and mind.
Restorative Yoga
This practice combines gentle mobility and movement exercises, longer held passive stretches and fully supported restorative poses. All the while incorporating mindfulness and breath awareness.
The emphasis is to create gentle movement to areas that may be stuck, tight or in holding patterns, in combination with yin holds intended to improve flexibility and relieve physical and mental-emotional stress. Our restorative poses allow us to relax even more deeply within the postures for maximum relaxation and restoration of our vital energies.
We do use Yoga props for this practice - we generally recommend:
One bolster, 2 yoga blocks, a chip foam pad, a yoga strap and a blanket.
You can use pillows, cushions, blankets, towels etc… as an alternative.
Hatha Flow
This hatha class will be suitable for all levels of practice
It will be an active practice which includes seated, kneeling, standing and reclined poses. We will not be focused on a lot of vinyasas or “flow" through our classes, but may occasionally include Slow Variations of Classical Lunge Salutations, Sun Salutations A & B and Moon Salutations.
We always start in meditation to switch gears from our day to our present mind- body experience. We use pranayama and breath awareness to harness more energy and flow moving from pose to pose and within poses.
You can expect to gain strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation.
